Mini Book Workshop

Want to start building a mini book library??  Then join me and a few other fabulous teachers for an awesome year of minis!

The Mini Book workshops at Studio Calico were some of my very favorite classes from last year.  I love making minis and it was so awesome to see some many different styles, ideas and inspiration throughout the year.  I love how the workshops were spaced just far enough apart so I could work on one album, finish it and then have a little while to snap photos for the next album!!  And I love that the classes were all offered as a bundle at the beginning of the year!  I looked forward to the classes all year long!

This year, I'm super excited to be a teacher for the workshop along with the amazing Tina Aszmus, Maggie Holmes and Marcy Penner.  This year is going to rock!  I can't wait to watch my album stack grow and grow throughout the year!!

First in the line up is the super inspiring Tina Aszmus.  Tina has the most amazing eye for design.  Her projects and albums are always so inspirational.  Here's a little info about what's in store for her class:  Take time to explore your surroundings and record the details of daily life that you may have overlooked. Join Tina Aszmus in this Mini Book Workshop, and learn how to document the every day in an artful 4x6 mini album.

Tina will be using this awesome kit for her class, so grab it while you can!  I guarantee it will be gone soon!!

You can purchase Tina's workshop by itself, or you can BUNDLE & SAVE!  Starting now through 3/31/2015, you can get all four 2015 Mini Book Mini Workshops for 20% off....that just $32 for all four workshops!  $8 a class!  How awesome is that??

Are you in??  I so hope to see you in class!!

Odyssey Reveal // Studio Calico

Happy REVEAL DAY!
I'm so excited to share some a few of my projects from the Studio Calico Odyssey kits with you today!  Odyssey is full of pretty blues and pops of yellow!  There's a few fun roller stamps in the kits this month and I'm kind of obsessed with them!  They are perfect for my memory planner!

Here's a sneak peek of the awesome kits!

And here are my Odyssey Main Scrapbook kit layouts!  Lots of blue and yellow!  So fun!

The Best of Times
I started this page with this larger photo of my sweet boy.  I played around with having a few of the paper layers under the photo, but then I decided to create a block on my page using smaller squares of paper and my photo.  I kept the layers varied and overlapped them in random ways so it didn't look too "perfect".  I finished this page by stitching the papers into place and stitching a few of the tabs onto the patterned paper and photo.  I added in some of the bold labels and fun chipboard pieces using pop dots for a little added dimension.

Adventure
Circles, circles everywhere!
You all know I love circles, so I couldn't resist doing a circle collage page!!  I used my 2 inch circle punch to punch out my papers and photos and then randomly layered everything on the page.  I tried to keep balance by spreading out the colors and photos, and then adding in the smaller chipboard pieces!  I typed my journaling onto a piece of vellum and then stitched it onto one of the circles.  The last detail was my title, which I added at the top of my page using those awesome gold letters!  I wish you could see how shiny and pretty they are!!!

I'll be back next week to share the rest of my projects, but you can hop on over to the Creative Gallery if you would like to check them out now!  The rest of this month's kits (Penelope, Athena and Calypso) are just spectacular and I had so much fun playing around with them!!  There are lots of AWESOME new stamps in the shop as well.....and I can GUARANTEE that the Laina Alphabet Stamp and Arch Number Stamp will be in my cart!

Happy shopping!!!  Be sure to join us for REVEAL CHAT later tonight!! Hope to see you there!!

February Project Life Album: Part I

Documenting our everyday life is the best.  I love having a place to add all the photos and stuff of our day.  Switching things up and creating individual monthly albums this year has been just awesome so far.  I've got a good little system down so the process is fast and easy!!

This month, I decided to switch up my sizes a little and go with a smaller book....a 4x4 WRMK album.  I feel in love with this mini albums as soon as I saw them and thought they would be perfect for documenting the everyday.  I was also kind of obsessed with the 2x2 transparent DOW cards in the Cirque Project Life kit and knew I wanted to use those in my February album!!

See...aren't those transparent cards just so awesome?  I backed mine with white card stock and then stitched them into place so they wouldn't slip around.  Love!

You can read more about my process over on the Studio Calico blog today!!  I also have a quick walk through video of my album because...well....because I love making walk through albums and being able to share the details of each page!  Sometimes a photo doesn't do a project justice, right??  I'm super excited to share this next book with you and I can't wait to see what is in store for March!!

I used lots of the Cirque Project Life kit, as well as Flying Trapeze, High Wire and Ringmaster Add-ons.  All of the supplies are so versatile and really can work on any kind of project.  I love mixing in "scrapbook" products in my Project Life albums!!

If you haven't created one of these 4x4 mini books, I cannot recommend them highly enough!  They are so cute and so fun to work with!  And so easy!  The pages comes together in a snap!!

And that's the first half of my February book!  I'll be back to share the rest of the month in a few weeks!!  Thanks so much for stopping by and hanging out with me today!!

Memory Planner: My Favorite Supplies

Oh Memory Planner!  You continue to be my newest obsession.  I seriously love you. xo-

I'm still (obviously) so obsessed with this planner!!  I write my lists in here, add in little notes, staple in photos, keep grocery lists, record memories, etc...  It's kind of like a "catch-all" for my life.  I love having a two page monthly calendar and then individual daily boxes.  My life just doesn't fit onto one  basic calendar.

I love adding in fun photos, cards and stickers to my planner and today, I thought I would share some of my favorites with you!!

I use small transparent stickers, Heidi's washi tape book and post-it notes everyday.  I loooooove post-it notes!!  I probably write about 20 a day (for both work and home), and my favorite part is tossing them out at the end of the day!!  Nothing like checking things off of the list!!  I usually use just plain white post-it notes for making these "reminder" notes.  They have more space and I need that.  I use the smaller post-its for adding in dates/times/places to my daily boxes.

I keep the Memory Planner pouch in the front of my planner, and it's stocked with cards, tags and some extra stickers.  It does add a little bit of bulk to my planner, but that doesn't bother me.  The bigger the better!!

I have a few mini alpha, journaling cards and stickers in the front pocket of the planner.  When I need these, I just slide them out, use them and then pop them back in.  When I run out of "a" and "e", I'll just rotate in a new pack.  (Anyone else feel like they need a set of just extra a's and e's???)

The things that don't fit into the pouch are kept in this little basket (from Target).  Having everything in one place is a must!  It definitely saves me time when searching for supplies.  I'm also in habit of working in my planner on Sunday night (for meal planning, blog planning, general to-dos), and I usually just bring this basket downstairs and work on the couch.

And that's it!!
Everything is together and easily accessible!!!  And I love it!!
How's your planner coming along???  Are you as obsessed as me??

Eight: A Mini Album

Sweet mini albums are just my fave!!
My hubby and I are celebrating eight great years of marriage in a week, so I decided to put together a fun mini album of JUST US over the weekend.  Rarely do I make projects with myself, much less my husband.  Let's just say that he doesn't really love the camera!!  :)

I used Dear Lizzy's XOXO kit and I LOVE how it turned out!  I've really wanted the papers from her Serendipity collection for a while, so when she released this new kit, I was all over it!!  The pops of pink with the shiny gold make for such a fun album!!  I also added in some Serendipity pieces that were included in the Cirque kits over at Studio Calico!!  Those gold foil words are divine!!

So, that's my new favorite mini!!  :)
Do you remember to document relationships with people other than just your children??  I am going to make a conscious effort to include more of "us" in our books and pages!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
xoxo
